Zupagrafika "Brutal Poland" - product description "Brutal Poland" from the independent publisher Zupagrafika is a fascinating journey through the architectural heritage of the Polish People's Republic. This bilingual publication Polish and English is a unique combination of a photo album and an interactive game, allowing readers to literally "build" the history of Polish cities. The book documents the most intriguing modernist and brutalist structures, from Katowice's iconic Spodek Arena, through Gdańsk's Falowce, to Kraków's Hotel Forum. The first part of the book contains richly illustrated chapters with history and interesting facts, enriched by a prologue by architectural historian Anna Cymer. The second part is a creative workshop: nine ready-to-assemble building models, printed on sheets of paper with attention to detail, such as satellite dishes and graffiti on facades, capturing the authentic atmosphere of Polish housing estates before thermal modernization. Discover the beauty of concrete and save the icons of post-war modernism from oblivion. Also check out our other architecture albums and publications.
